Springtime in the Park

Today we went into town to support Daddy's colleagues who were organising a sponsored walk in Hyde Park. We did the short version of the walk, stopping off at the play area on the way.

It was unseasonably hot and sunny and we had to buy suntan lotion on the way.

Had lunch in the pub and a leisurely walk back to the station.

The Midlands Adventure - Part Three

Today was the biggie - Alton Towers. It poured with rain most of the day, so wasn't as much fun as it could have been. There were patches of sun, but George and I spent most of the day hanging around in the freezing cold drizzle waiting for everyone else to finish on the big rides.

There was one ride we could all go on together - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. When we got to the glass elevator, with vibrating floors and swirling multicoloured images, I thought George might freak out a bit, but on the contrary he loved it and spontaneously clapped at the end!

The Midlands Adventure - Part Two

Today was Drayton Manor Park - home to Thomas Land as well as a Zoo and some proper scary rides, so something for everyone really!

George sampled all the rides he could in Thomas Land - even taking his hair into account we couldn't make him quite tall enough for the rollercoaster. But we went up in the air and were spun round and round, and George pretended to steer some cars. Some of the rides were surprisingly dramatic but little G didn't bat an eyelid!

The Midlands Adventure - Part One

We are spending the week with George's Auntie Sarah and Uncle Paul in Wolverhampton - with lots of daytrips planned.

Today we went to Cadbury World. George got a bit bored with all the history stuff (as did I) but really enjoyed the liquid chocolate pot, and had fun on the outdoor climbing frame. The chocolate bean ride was also a big success.
