Bank Holiday Weekend

We continued George's education with a night at the dogs - Hove Greyhound Races.
Back over to the other side of Brighton the next day, with a slightly more toddler-friendly excursion. Drusillas - a combination play park and zoo, which George has re-christened "Thomas Town" because they have a big Thomas train running through the middle.

As well as posing for photos, George enjoyed painting a mask, running around the play structures, panning for gold (or was it mummy who enjoyed that?) and collecting stamps (or maybe that was mummy too).

Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot!

A trip to the seaside today - Eastbourne, to be precise. And what a scorcher it turned out to be. We walked along the seafront but didn't make it as far as the pier because we were melting.

Dressing Up Again

Just to prove that George doesn't always end up dressed as a fairy when we go to Sarah's, here he is as a dinosaur:

However, later in the day, having emerged from the paddling pool shivering, he ended up wearing this:

Yet another Theme Park

This was a new one for us - Gulliver's at Milton Keynes. Handily en route home from Wales.

It was busier than we expected, but the queues weren't bad at all, and almost all of the rides were suitable for George, now that he is very definitely over 90cm. This meant we also had to pay for him, but the cost for all three of us was only equivalent to what one person pays at Chessington etc so we weren't complaining. The only downside for us was that most of the rides were one adult, one child, which meant that we couldn't both go on with George.

Weekend in Wales

George spent the weekend with Nana Nette and Grandad Ron. There was a trip to the playground, a visit to the seaside at Rhyl, and Church on Sunday morning (George apparently sang "Balamory" at the top of his voice during the hymns).

(The pictures have come up small because I stole them from Grandad's facebook page!)

Garden Games

Today we had no real plans, so I promised George a picnic in the garden. Sure enough, as the morning progressed, the weather worsened. But we were not deterred, and the picnic went ahead as planned. I was even persuaded (if not actually bullied) into getting the paddling pool out. After lunch we managed to get some gardening done. The raspberries and grapes and tomatoes are all coming along well - although none of the raspberries are going to make it to our table because George insists on eating them straight from the bush as soon as they are ripe.

Peckham Rye Park

This morning we joined Sarah and Ruby and their dog Bella, plus two friends, for a walk in Peckham Rye Park. George started off on his bike with the girls, but soon tired of that and left it for me to carry. He did get plenty of exercise though, including on the "Green Gym". And he enjoyed the ice cream he had at the cafe afterwards.
